Bruce Dern returns to the big screen in »Northbound«: In William Scoular’s road movie, he stars alongside Hunter Parrish and Joanna Cassidy as an unrepentant old rogue who gets kicked out of his nursing home, leaving his grandson to pick him up, and turning their drive north to Canada into a wild ride. “Northbound” will celebrate its German premiere at the Closing Night Gala, attended by William Scoular and Joanna Cassidy. Other highlights of the 33rd edition include Quentin Dupieux’s darkly comic father-daughter farce »Full Phil«, starring Woody Harrelson and Kristen Stewart, and Paul Wright’s intense drama »Mission«, featuring George MacKay in the lead.

Celebrating their world premieres in Oldenburg are Ned Crowley's fast-paced horror comedy »Dead Drop«, which breathes fresh, biting wit into the classic killer-elevator setup, and Jared Hogan's Depression-era drama »Jackrabbit«, shot by cinematographer Corey C. Waters, who previously lensed Kristen Stewart's striking directorial debut.
