Just a few moments of inattention, and nothing is ever the same again: Juan and Alma have lost their son Andrés in an accident, and their grief is immeasurable. Juan, in particular, blames himself, for he was the one at home alone with Andrés that night. Overwhelmed by guilt, he flees out to sea in a boat, where he miraculously finds his son brought back to life.
