A minor mishap at a speed-dating event, fueled by too much cheap Pinot, sends single woman Kathy tumbling to the floor and straight into the ICU. When she wakes from her coma, she is physically fine, but her once-quick-witted speech has overnight acquired a thick Bosnian accent. Whether in a restaurant or a supermarket, the moment Kathy opens her mouth, most people react with laughter or prejudice. Only Visnja, a hospital cleaner, shows understanding; she introduces Kathy to a world that not only opens her eyes and fosters unexpected friendships but also finally gives her life the meaning it had long lacked - at least until Kathy suddenly appears to be recovering. Straddling the line between lighthearted rom-com and biting social satire, Boris Mojsovski’s immensely charming "what-if" scenario navigates seemingly insurmountable cultural differences, only to reveal them as absurd mental barriers.
