Part-time sex worker, full-time chaos queen—AP is convinced that the entire universe is out to get her. She has just lost a tooth when she is told that she likely has a curse around her neck—at least, that’s what the tarot cards read, which she had drawn by a medium. To lift the curse, AP is supposed to pay a thousand dollars and sacrifice a lamb, but neither option is acceptable to her. And she certainly can’t afford it. So AP sets out to seek a second opinion—and, just to be safe, a source of money. Her journey takes her to the seedier corners of Trashtown, with dazzling characters lining her path.

Annapurna Sriram had grown tired of being constantly pushed into dull, stereotypical roles, and with »Fucktoys«  she realized her dream of breaking out of the entrenched system herself. Somewhere between John Waters, Gregg Araki, and »Alice in Wonderland«, she champions the wonderful trash artistry of 1970s cinema and merges its rebellious nonconformism with the post-feminist ideals of modern empowerment cinema.
