There is a hammer missing from Patrick‘s shed. The thirtyish young man lives with his parents on their nudist campground, which he has to take over when his father passes away. But without his father and especially without his hammer, Patrick feels lost, alone, helpless. The search for his tool will need some detective skills - logic and methodology. Because somewhere between all those nude bodies, there is still a truth to uncover. When the hammer turns outto have been used in a crime, his investigation has to turn up the cold, naked facts more quickly. Belgian director Tim Mielants turns Patrick’s mourning and his search for meaning into the search for his hammer. No matter how absurd this may sound, it works. »Patrick« is a tightrope walk between slapstick, deep life questions and sensitive observations. A comedy experience with a pinch of seriousness, and a drama with a pinch of comedy. A little like a 70s detective movie without the cool retro-clothes and with belly-laughs that will have you convulsing in your seat. »Patrick« was awarded the Best Director at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival.
