Julius Ramsay

Primetime Emmy award nominee for his work on the series “Alias” and “Battlestar Galactica”, his directorial resume includes the critically acclaimed series “The Walking Dead”. With brother Alston, former senior speechwriter to General David Petraeus, “Midnighters” marks their feature debut.

Extreme situations can lead to extremely stupid mistakes. Which is why one can safely describe this fast-paced film as a screwball-thriller. Lindsay and Jeff have finally followed their dream out of the crowded city and into a home in the country. Their happiness seems ensured, but driving home from a New Year’s Eve party. Still quite inebriated and even more shaken, they decide to get rid of the supposedly dead body – but their diagnosis proves wrong. Even worse: a note in his wallet shows that he was actually trying to find them, before they accidentally found him first. When it then comes out that Lindsay’s younger sister Hannah played a part in what happens, the plot thickens even more. Julius Ramsay, who directed numerous episodes of “The Walking Dead”, takes his protagonists through a whirlwind of violence that seems nearly escapable, but never quite is – in a film that with its ample mix of greed, insidiousness and madness, brings on fond memories of Alfred Hitchcock’s thrillers.
