The Oldenburg International Filmfestival showcases more than 50 films, shorts and documentaries in its different sections. Independent film-making and contemporary, young German and international productions are the festival's main focus. Added to this are films and retrospectives to legendary directors and forgotten geniuses of film.

In 2015 the 22nd Oldenburg Film Festival presents the following sections:

Independent Section

International Section

Retrospective - George Armitage

Midnite Xpress

Short Films

Festival Center

The festival center is the Filmfest Oldenburg, Bahnhofstr. 15/Corner Rosenstraße. All facilities are located here, including the pre-selling. The Foyer with its bar is the perfect spot to meet and rest between screenings. The festival's info center is the central hot spot for news, infos, guests and parties.

JVA Oldenburg

In 2013, the JVA Oldenburg continues to be a festival location. Oldenburg is the only festival showing part of its regular program in a prison. The idea is to not only provide the inmates with a cultural acitivity that becomes part of their reintegration but also to give festival visitors a look at everyday life behind prison bars. The festival aims to create a bridge between the closed confines of the prison and the lively festival atmosphere thus highlighting the fact that prisoners are indeed still part of our society.
