Film festival publishes other highlights of festival-program and guests

No other than indie icon Deborah Kara Unger will be the jury president oft the “German Independence Award – Best German Film.” Deborah Unger comes to Oldenburg not only to be part of the jury but also to present Raul Inglis’ revenge thriller TAKEDOWN. Other highlights from the program are Julio Medem’s poetic erotic ROOM IN ROME, a journey through the changing landscape of our souls and passions. The quirky Scandinavian divorce comedy THE HOUSE OF BRANCHING LOVE sees the comeback of Mika Kaurismäki to Oldenburg. Bernard Rose follows the trail of a legendary and sophisticated drug baron in MR. NICE. His very British answer to “Blow” comes across colorful and hip and has brilliant actors in Rhy Ifans and Chloë Sevigny.

Julien Temple embarks on a time travel as he uncovers the secret history of Dr. Feelgood in OIL CITY CONFIDENTIAL. Giada Colagrande’s third feature, A WOMAN, comes straight from the Lido in Venice to Oldenburg. Her husband, Willem Dafoe, stars in the role of a very successful writer.

Another highlight will be the closing night ceremony with the world premiere of POUND OF FLESH on Sunday September 19th. 75-year-old Tamar Simon Hoffs is going to present her film with lead actor Timothy Bottoms in attendance.
