Exclusive German-wide cooperation with the video-on-demand platform MUBI

20.07.10

Among other international festivals like Sundance, Toronto, Sao Paulo or Karlovy Vary Oldenburg Film Festival has been selected to become the first German partner with the worldwide video-on-demand platform MUBI, whose focus is on arthouse cinema. This cooperation enables the festival to showcase a selection of its programme via online-stream. During the festival viewers at home will be able to watch among others the nominees for the German Independence Award. The offer is free of charge but is limited to 300 views per film and only available to viewers outside of Germany.

More than 300.000 cineasts are registered for their services and every two minutes a new member joins. The catalogue includes classics and international indies by renown directors such as the Coen brothers, Kitano, Almodóvar, Tarantino or Gus van Sant. But MUBI offers more than films, festivals or exciting retrospectives. They see themselves as a social network for international film fans.
