»John Gallagher’s production of „Five Women Wearing the Same Dress“ premiered«

John Gallagher’s production of “Five Women Wearing the Same Dress” premiered on Thursday at the historic Duo Theatre in New York. The theatre became famous when Andy Warhol shot his Blue Movies in the late 1960ies at this location. Later Francis Ford Coppola staged the famous operetta scene of “Godfather 2” there.

The play was written by the screenwriter Allen Ball, who is responsible for successes like “American Beauty” and the TV series “Six Feet Under” and “True Blood”. The production stars an ensemble cast of Da Fre, Darla Delane, Allie Dunbar, Kate Eisenhower, Krissy Garber, and Lauren Schacher, who presented with John Gallagher their film “Beautiful” at the recent Oldenburg Film Festival. “Five Women…” is a comedy-drama set at a wedding reception in Tennessee. Five bridesmaids hide out from the party in the bedroom of the bride’s sister. The women come to realize, among other things, that they are closer friends with each other than they are with the bride. The play could be seen till November 22nd.
