"Reach for Me“ and Seymour Cassel were awarded again«

One of the highlights of the 15th Oldenburg Film Festival in 2008 was the world premiere of the movie “Reach for Me” at the Staatstheater. Now the film won the audience award at the San Diego Film Festival.

“Reach for Me“ is a warmhearted and deeply moving intimate play about dying and the preceding intense moments. Seymour Cassel as the grummy old man Alvin delivers one of the best performances of his career and was honoured with the Indie Icon Award in the course of the festival.

As in previous years the films which premiered in Oldenburg continue to be successful at other international venues.

The winner of the German Independence Award – Best German Film “Distance” will be shown in a great gala screening at the Warsaw Film Festival, which takes place October 9-18, 2009. At our partner Festival du Nouveau Cinéma de Montréal Pieter van Hees’ comedy “Dirty Mind” will be screened. Furthermore Ryan Ward’s debut “Son of the Sunshine” has its next stop at the currently started Raindance Film Festival. The BFI 53rd London Film Festival will screen the films “Polytechnique“ and “Villa Amalia” in October. In Japan, Seymour Cassel’s gorgeous performance of the deaf-mute deli-owner in the film „Staten Island“ will be shown at the Tokyo Film Festival.
